Dental emergency

The treatment of dental problems is not the responsibility of GPs. In an emergency, please contact 111.

Please note that GP's do not treat any dental issues, e.g. abscess, toothache etc.

If you do not have a dentist please call 111 and the advisor will be able to put you in touch with an urgent dental service.

If you think you require urgent care, contact your usual dentist as some practices offer emergency dental appointments and will provide care if clinically necessary.

If you are experiencing difficulties locating a permanent dentist accepting NHS patients, you should call NHS England's Customer Contact Centre on 0300 311 2233 and select option 3, or alternatively contact the Louth Emergency Dentist on 01507 601367.

Please do not contact your GP, as they will not be able to offer urgent or emergency dental care.
