Market Rasen Surgery is a medium-sized dispensing practice based in the centre of town, just on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds and within easy reach of hospitals in Grimsby, Lincoln, Gainsborough and Louth. We serve a largely rural community of approximately 10550 patients over approximately 200 square miles.

The practice is contracted by The Integrated Care Board (ICB) to provide general medical services to our patient population. As well as general medical services, we also provide many additional services, including minor surgery, such as vasectomies, skin procedures, orthopaedic procedures and hernia procedures in our purpose-built level 3 theatre, along with cervical screening, steroid injections, Nexplanon / IUD fitting, childhood immunisations, warfarin monitoring and suture removal.

In addition to the two GP Partners, and 7 salaried GPs we have a highly skilled practice nurses who carry out general nursing duties, also manages the care of patients with conditions such as asthma or other respiratory disease, diabetes and chronic heart disease.

We have 2 nurse practitioners, Physician Associate who are able to diagnose and prescribe for patients suffering from minor illnesses such as infections, rashes and bites.

We also employ an older adults nurse who carries out reviews of patients and supports them with their day to day activities.

The nursing team is supplemented by trained Health Care Assistants & a Nursing Associate who take blood, monitor warfarin levels and take basic data such as height and weight.

We also have a team of attached nursing staff who look after our patients. These include the community nursing team, health visitor, community midwife and a Mental Health Practitioner who works for the practice for 2 days per day.

We also have Primary Care Network (PCN) staff who work within the practice; these are: 2 Clinical Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technician, Occupational Therapist, Paramedic, Care Co-ordinator, AQP physio and MSK physio. We run a Rasen area memory cafe on the first Friday of every month which offers support to people with memory problems, their family and carers.

The clinical team is supported by the dispensary and administrative staff, including Assistant Practice Manager , a finance manager, , patient records administrator, patient services administrator, a medical secretary, receptionists & cleaners. For the day to day management of the practice and its services to patients is the Practice Manager.
